From Porto with the Love of Sail

We’re delighted to announce that Raymond Reynolds Ltd, Niepoort Vinhos SA, Vinhos Barbeito, and Trans Ocean Wind Transport (TOWT) have collaborated to set up the first, regular By Sail trading route from Portugal to the UK.

This form of transport is a romantic recreation of the sail trading routes of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, the only way Port & Douro Wine reached our shores and the busy taverns of Blighty. It also represents a positive step by ourselves, Barbeito, and Niepoort to reduce our collective Carbon Footprint for the importing of wine and Port to the UK.
