Raul Moreno

A well-travelled and highly experienced chef-turned-winemaker, Raul Moreno now makes hugely interesting dry, table wines in the Jerez region of Andalucia, in south-west Spain.

Raul found his tastebuds in the kitchen. He has worked for Marco Pierre White, and later ran his own retaurant. As his interest in wine grew, he retrained and embarked on a winemaking career that has now spanned more than two decades. During that time, he has made wine and taught viticulture around the world, including France, Portugal and Australia.

He returned to his home of Seville during the Covid-19 pandemic, and settled in Sanlucar de Barrameda, where he began producing his own wines. This town marks the western point of the, so-called, 'Sherry triangle'. The terroir here is chalk-white limestone, known as Albariza, and is home to indigenous varieties such as the famous Palomino and lesser-known Tintilla. It is from this remarkable terroir that Raul now crafts his wonderful, distinct, and expressive wines.
