In many respects, Bairrada is Portugal's most historic wine region, achieving renown right back to Roman times. Recently, the Baga Friends union looks set to re-establish its glorious reputation. Mixed soils of sand, clay and limestone, along with a large influence from it's proximity to the Atlanitic ocean, Bairrada produces some stunning whites and sparkling wines, and is also the home of Baga, it's most popular red variety.
Our portfolio features the free spirit of Luis Pato, a long-standing authority for the region's famous Baga variety, alongside daughter Maria-Joao Pato a.k.a. Duckman. Plus new-comers Defio are exploring the potential of high-quality wines in can.
