CON-BAS-TT2020-BUK
Grape Varieties: Bastardo
Historically, Bastardo was planted for it's high sugar and alcohol contribution to port wines. With changing times and changing tastes many vineyards were grubbed-up. Luckily Rita inherited 5 hectares of Bastardo, planted by her grandfather 50 years ago in the Douro highlands.
This wine is trodden in lagares with very low sulphur additions. The result is light in colour, with a haunting aroma and flavour. Bastardo is a synonym for Trousseau and the Douro version is quite different to that of Jura.
