Grape Varieties Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Sousao

A modern approach to Douro red, but using good old-fashion blending knowledge. Quinta da Pedra Escrita lies above 500 metres in the southern Douro Superior, meaning higher acidity and freshness, but lots of ripeness.

Touriga brings fruit and elegant florals, Jaen brings more fruit depth and tannic structure, and the Sousao brings herbaceous notes and great acidity with a sour kick. All these are brought together by fermentation and ageing in french oak. A classy wine of great balance.
