Grape Varieties Jaen, Alfrocheiro, and others

The wine is based on grapes from the Correio property, which is part of the Quinta dos Roques stables, but a couple of minutes south-west of the winery. The property is now mostly comprised of newer plantings as a consequence of the devastating summer wildfires of 2017. The wine also has contributions from other Roques Vineyards a short way north of the winery.

With good ripeness, structure, and typical Dao freshness, the Correio by Roques is a showcase of traditional Dao varieties such as Jaen (Mencia), Touriga Nacional, and Alfrocheiro. Harvested and vinified by variety and later blended, it is a herb-fruited, honest reflection of this great appellation. It's not simple, but it is fun and immensely drinkable.
