Grape Varieties Castelao & Trincadeira

Aged for 12 years, this wine is an example of the forward-thinking and experimental side of VIlla Oeiras. Using two indiginous varieties, and the same fortification and ageing process as for the white Carcavelos, winemaker, Alexandra, deemed this wine to be at it's best for release at 12 years old.

Very different to the white, this wine displays the red fruit base in it's profile, with more depth and a little more texture. Acidity retention is everythihng, as this wine is unctuous, but still well balanced and finishes very clean.
