The name Pé de Mãe is given to special vines that are used as a source of cuttings for propagation purposes. Those vines that have proved to be perfectly adapted to their terroir, and whose fruit is proven to be of exceptional quality over time.
This wine is a product of such varieties, and individual, old vineyards that have proven themselves through the harshest of Alentejo conditions.
This wine is lighter and more elegant than one might expect. Depth of flavour is balanced with complexity, and age-worthy structure has been honed and mellowed by extended ageing in large-volume, seasoned oak barrels.
