Grape Varieties Ramisco and Castelão

Ramisco and Castelão are the two main red grape varieties at Ramilo. Usually the Ramisco is found in the sandy soils of their Colares vineyards, however, ever the innovator, Nuno wanted to know how Ramisco would fair on the limestone soils of the Lizandro Valley, where the winery is located, so he planted some!

The 2023 blend of Ramisco and Castelão, both from the limestone vineyards at the winery, is the first iteration. It shows that when knowledge and curiosity come togehter, wonderful things happen.
