Grape Varieties Touriga Franca, Tinto Cao and Tinta Roriz

The Vinha do Sobreiro is an old parcel at a higher altitude than most red vineyards, in the Pinhao valley. This field blend of grapes has a large amount of Touriga Franca, a fouvourite grape of winemaker, Paulo. The parcel used to be added to the larger blend that made up LDF's blends reds, but Paulo noticed a uniqueness that needed to be preserved and bottled seperately.

It is foot trodden and fermented in lagar, and aged in new French oak barrels for a year. It was then aged in bottle for 5 years before release. It's a wonderfully complex, bold, but elegant wine, ready for drinking.
