Barbeito's first foray into non-fortified wines is a single parcel wine into which a lot of long-term effort has been invested.

The vineyard layout, trellising, and pruning systems have all been adapted away from that typical for grapes destined for Madeira wine and more towards what is normal for table wines. Over several vintages the ideal picking time, fermentation method, and ageing have all been honed to what Ricardo thinks is perfection.

A wonderfully complex wine, with the balance of weight, flavour, and freshness that will satisfy many food matches and cellar for many years.
